Porsche has offered Apple CarPlay since 2015 but in a new move they are going to provide the Apple Music app built-in to their infotainment system without needing to connect to your phone.
Utilizing in-car WiFi, Porsche will give owners free data for the first three years, including six months of complimentary Apple Music. While users could always either stream music through Bluetooth or plug in to connect to CarPlay, by using your phone it would count towards your cellphone data plan.
Now with the included in-car data you could stream as much music as you want without it affecting your cellphone plan. Granted if you’re in the market for a $130,000 car chances are that going over your cellphone data plan is probably not high on the list of concerns.
