If you’re planning a cross-country motorcycle ride, the 2018 Honda Gold Wing will be any technology fan’s first choice. Giving riders more music and navigation options, Honda is the first manufacturer to add Apple CarPlay compatibility to a motorcycle.
Utilizing a huge 7-inch LCD display and a rotary controller, this allows the full functionality of CarPlay. There are a couple of caveats however as the Gold Wing does not support wireless CarPlay. You will still need to plug the iPhone via a USB cable, with ports either in the trunk or storage area by the tank. A Bluetooth headset paired to the motorcycle will also be required for CarPlay to initialize. Once connected you will be able to use CarPlay just as you would in a car.
Bad news for Android Auto users however, according to CNET Google doesn’t have any plans to allow for Android Auto integration into motorcycles at this time.
