For those needing a more visual view for their navigation needs, Google+ user Roberto Mezquia Jr. is reporting that satellite view is now available for Google Maps on Android Auto.

While currently this view is only available to Android users it will be interesting to see if Google will turn this feature on when Google Maps comes to Apple CarPlay with the upcoming release of iOS 12.

As a friendly reminder for those on limited data plans you might want to check your usage of satellite view, this view requires more data to display all of the map assets.
